BLACKAMOORS Dmitry Alekseevich

BLACKAMOORS Dmitry Alekseevich (sort. in 1897) — the Soviet surgeon, the member correspondent of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences (1953), the honored worker of science of RSFSR (1959), the lieutenant general of medical service.

In 1925 ended medical f-t of the 2nd MSU. Since 1929 worked in Scientific Research Institute of Emergency Medicine of N. V. Sklifosovsky where for many years was the closest associate of S. S. Yudin. Since the beginning of the Great Patriotic War D. A. Arapov served in Navy (on the Northern Fleet). From May, 1953 to 1970 — the deputy chief surgeon of Military-medical management of the Ministry of Defence and the chief surgeon of Navy.

D. A. Arapov is an author apprx. 200 scientific works devoted to various questions of an urgent surgery of abdominal organs (intestinal impassability, an acute appendicitis, stomach ulcer), a burn injury, a surgical infection, anesthesiology, a plastic surgery, neurosurgery, treatment of endocrine diseases. In its scientific practical activities questions of field surgery figure prominently. Its monograph «Gas Gangrene» (1942) became the reference book of each surgeon. For implementation in clinical practice of medical serum of N. G. Belenky in 1949 D. A. Arapov is conferred the State award.

D. A. Arapov — the honorary member Vserossiyskogo, the Moscow, Kazakh and Tajik surgical societies, the member of the International island of surgeons. It is a participant of preparation of a number of the Soviet medical encyclopedias (the author and the editor of articles according to the section «Surgery» of the 2nd prod. BME and Small medical encyclopedia). «the sign of Honour» and medals is awarded the order the Red Banner, by two awards of the Labour Red Banner, awards of Patriotic war of the I degree, the Red Star.
