AUTONOMOUS GROWTH — the features of growth inherent to tumors which are not depending on physiological regulation. Key feature And. the river is the fact that it does not stop after elimination of the reasons which caused it. Representation about A.R. is based on a number of kliniko-anatomic and experimental observations.
Tumors were called «heterologous educations» already more than hundred years ago, emphasizing loss them from a harmonious structure of a normal organism, its bodies and fabrics what the fact of existence of a tumor testifies to, a cut normal shall not be. Fabric of an opakhla differs from normal fabrics not only on the structure, but also on exchange; so, e.g., the lipoma does not decrease at an atrophy of a surrounding fatty tissue. The same treats also other benign tumors, e.g. fibroadenomas of a mammary gland, hysteromyomas, etc. Benign tumors grow irrespective of growth of surrounding fabrics, moving apart and squeezing them, expansive occupying the increasing territory.
The most intensive A.R. it is characteristic of malignant new growths; they are capable to sprout surrounding fabrics and to destroy them, i.e. have infiltrative and destruiruyushchy growth.
The most convincing proof And. rubles are results of transplantation of spontaneous and eksperimentilny tumors from one animal to another (the same or other look). Strains of such intertwined new growths can exist many decades. Ability of tumor cells to keep the properties in cultures out of an organism during long terms is fixed. Perevivaniye of such cultures the corresponding animal leads to growth of cells and again to formation of a tumor.
In a crust. time And. the ruble of tumors is recognized as all, but it cannot be treated as completely independent of an organism. Numerous experiments proved that in some cases, especially at the beginning of development, tumors can grow only at the continuing action of those agents who caused them. It belongs first of all to so-called dishormonal tumors, napr, to tumors of a mammary gland which were caused by estrogen.
Sometimes even at transplantation of these tumors only repeated use of estrogen provides success of subinoculation. Such new growths are called «dependent», however further, at the subsequent subinoculations, introduction can not be required by animals of estrogen any more, i.e. «dependent» tumors become «independent». Such observations formed a basis for modern idea of a progression of tumors (see). Dependence of tumors on an organism, i.e. only relative autonomy their autonomy, can be of great importance for a modern lekarstvennog of their treatment, especially hormonal therapy.
A concept about And. by river it has to be reconsidered in the light of the doctrine about a progression of tumors. This progression, as a rule, begins with pretumor and precancerous growths which depend on an organism and only gradually, on stages in the beginning, gain the increasing ability to And. river Due to stated quite naturally to call this feature of growth of tumors «the allonomny growth» and to consider that tumors grow not under "own law", and only under "the special law" (N.
