WINDOWING of the LABYRINTH (Latin fenestra window, opening; Greek 1a-bvrinthos a labyrinth) — surgery: creation of an opening in side (is more rare front) the semicircular channel of a labyrinth, through a cut it is reported with a drum cavity, for the purpose of substitution of a nonfunctioning oval window; it is applied, e.g., at an otosclerosis — see the Otosclerosis.
