THORN TEST (G. W. Thorn, amer. doctor, sort. in 1906) — the functional trial based on with ti in m ul yats and and d turnips ok about rt and to from r opna of m hormone of a hypophysis of secretion of cortisol bark of adrenal glands and on decrease under the influence of cortisol of absolute quantity of eosinophils in blood. Etc. it is offered in 1949 for diagnosis of diseases of bark of the adrenal glands which are characterized by a hypocorticoidism (see Adrenal glands), in particular to an addisonovy disease (see). If after intramuscular introduction of AKTG (corticotropin) the absolute quantity of eosinophils in blood decreases more than by 50%, it is possible to think of safe function of bark of adrenal glands. At an addisonovy disease quantity of eosinophils as a result of T. and. does not decrease or decreases slightly.

During the carrying out adrenokortikot.ropny hormone, Other with use, (see) allergic reactions sometimes developed (see the Allergy) up to an acute anaphylaxis (see) therefore instead of it began to use synthetic analog A1chTG — the joint venture the pact and (Synacthen).

For conducting test at inspected on an empty stomach gather in the mixer for leukocytes blood from a finger and count in a cytometer absolute quantity of eosinophils in 1 mkl capillary blood to and in 4 hours after intramuscular introduction of 0,25 mg of Synacthenum. Etc. it is not informative at absolute quantity of eosinophils in the blood taken on an empty stomach, less than 100 and more than 600 cells in 1 mkl.

Comparison of indicators of Other and adrenalinic test (see) allows to differentiate primary and secondary gnnokortitsizm. If at Other normal change of quantity of eosinophils in blood is observed, and at adrenalinic test their number decreases less than by 50%, draw a conclusion about existence of primary hypocorticoidism. However Other and adrenalinic test have no sufficient specificity therefore began to apply more informative modifications of T to diagnosis of a hypocorticoidism. and. with Synacthenum and assessment of function of bark of adrenal glands on the maintenance of cortisol in blood or to removal!! - oksikortikosteroi-d (see) with urine. The short test with Synacthenum consists in definition of concentration of cortisol in blood (norm — not less than 50 ng/ml), the subsequent introduction intramusculary of 0,25 mg of Synacthenum and definition of concentration of cortisol in blood in 60 min. (norm — more than 180 ng/ml). Test allows to reveal a hypocorticoidism without specification of its genesis. Modification Other — Thorn's test — Labkharta, or Labkhart's test is most sensitive and specific to studying of cash and potential functional reserves of bark of adrenal glands. AKTG (25 PIECES) dissolve in 500 ml of isotonic solution of sodium chloride and daily within 3 days enter kapelno intravenously throughout the 8th hour. In daily urine to and during those 3 days, in to-rye carry out test, define the maintenance of 17 oxycorticosteroids. At healthy in the first days after administration of hormone there is an increase in contents 17-oksikortikos-teroidov by 3 — 5 times to the subsequent gradual increase within 2 — 3 days, at an addisonovy disease contents 17-oksikorti-kosteroidov in urine does not change. Patients with a secondary hypocorticoidism have a contents 17-oksikorti-kosteroidov in the first day is slightly increased and gradually increases by 3rd day.
