THIOACETAZONE (Thioacetazonum, synonym Tibonum; joint venture. B) — antituberculous remedy. Thiosemicarbazone of paraacetaminobenzaldehyde:

Light yellow fine-crystalline powder, water-insoluble.

T. has bakternostatichesky activity concerning mycobacteria of tuberculosis, nek-ry groups of atypical mycobacteria, causative agents of a leprosy. T. it is well soaked up from went. - kish. a path also collects in the maximum concentration in blood in 2 — 4 hours. Out of an organism it is brought preferential with urine, partially with bile.

T. apply at a pulmonary tuberculosis, tuberculosis of mucous and serous membranes, lymphadenites of a tubercular etiology, a scrofuloderma, specific fistulas, usually in combination with other antituberculous remedies, except for a solyutizon, Etioniamidum and Prothionamidum (in connection with cross stability of mycobacteria), Pyrazinamidum.

T. appoint inside after food. A daily dose for adult 0,1 — 0,15 g (on 0,05 g 2 — 3 times a day, sometimes to 0,075 g 2 times a day). To children drug is appointed at the rate of 0,0005 — 0,001 g/kg a day, but by no more than 0,05 g.

At use of T. dispeptic frustration, a headache, sleeplessness, allergic reactions can be observed, in hard cases the albuminuria, a tsplindruriya, hepatitis, anemia, an agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia develop. At emergence of these phenomena drug is cancelled. Treatment of T. it is necessary to carry out under a close check of function of kidneys and a liver, composition of blood.

Along with T. it is impossible to apply pyramidon, barbiturates, streptocides, mercury and iodide drugs.

T. it is contraindicated at disturbances of functions of kidneys and a liver, diseases went. - kish. path, hemopoietic bodies, c. N page, diabetes mellitus, allergic states.

Form of release: tablets on 0,01; 0,025 and 0,05 g
