The ENCYCLOPAEDIC MEDICAL REFERENCE BOOK for MILITARY PARAMEDICS

(EMSVF) — the USSR's first one-volume reference media of encyclopedic type issued in 1953 (hl. the editor is N. I. Zava-lishin). Contains apprx. 3 thousand articles added with numerous illustrations. At the end of volume thematic indexes are provided.

The reference book is intended for average medical structure of parts, divisions and to lay down. institutions of Armed Forces of the USSR. In it there are data on various questions arising in practice of lechebnoprofilaktichesky and medical and evacuation, sanitary and hygienic and anti-epidemic work in troops during medical ensuring their combat and physical training at a barracks arrangement, in camps and in combat conditions. The considerable attention is paid to rules of rendering the pre-medical help to wounded and patients, and also care of them in a field situation. Military-medical equipment is described, the principles of medical supply of the Soviet Army and Navy are stated, military-medical documentation is provided, the major data on history of domestic military medicine are submitted. The extensive experience and achievements of medical providing army and the fleet in days of the Great Patriotic War are reflected in articles of the reference book.
