TERPIN HYDRATE (Terpinum hydratum; GFH) — an expectorant. N-Mentandiol-1,8 hydrate; With 10 N 20 About 2 - H 2 O:

Receive by hydration of the gum spirit of turpentine purified (see. Turpentine ).

Colourless transparent crystals or inodorous white crystal powder, poorly bitter taste. At careful heating to t ° 100 ° it is sublimated, forming acicular crystals. We will dissolve in a cold water a little (1: 250), chloroform, ether and turpentine. T. treats expectorants of direct type of action. Strengthens secretion of bronchial glands and causes fluidifying of a phlegm. Appoint inside the adult on 0,25 — 0,5 g on reception 3 times a day; to children till 1 year on 0,025 — 0,05 g, up to 2 years 0,05 g, from 3 to 4 years 0,1 g, from 5 to 6 years 0,15 g, from 7 to 9 years 0,2 g, from 10 to 14 years 0,25 — 0,3 g on reception 2 — 3 times a day.

Drug is well transferred. In high doses (St. 1,5 g a day) reduction of secretion of bronchial glands can cause.

Forms of release: powder, tablets on 0,25 and 0,5 g Besides, are produced the tablets containing 0,25 g of terpin hydrate and Natrii hydrocarbonas. Store in well corked container.
