TANNALBINUM

TANNALBINUM (Tannalbinum) — astringent of a plant origin. Is a product of interaction of tanning agents from leaves of shrubby plants «sumach tannic (Rhus coriaria L.) and sumacs tanning (Cotinus cog-gygria Scop.) this. sumach (Anacardiaceae) with protein (casein). Contains apprx. 50% tannin (see).

Amorphous powder of dark-brown color. It is almost water-insoluble also alcohol.

On pharmakol. to properties it is close to a tannin (see. Tannins ). However, unlike the last, at intake has no the knitting effect on a mucous membrane of an oral cavity and a stomach. The knitting effect of T. it is shown only concerning a mucous membrane of intestines since in alkaline condition of a small bowel drug is split with release of free tannin.

Apply as astringent at ponosa of various etiology. At the ponosa connected with infectious went. - kish. diseases, in T. use as supportive application in addition to the corresponding chemotherapeutic methods of treatment.

Appoint inside the adult on 0,3 — 0,5 — 1 g on reception 3 — 4 times a day. To children the single dose is reduced to 0,1 — 0,5 g (depending on age).

Forms of release: powder, tablets on 0,5 g. Store in the dry, protected from light place.

T. is also a part of the tablets «Tansal» (Tabulettae «Tansalum») containing 0,3 g of Tannalbinum and salol.
