STRUMA (Latin struma a swelling, a tumor of glands) — the term used for designation of opukholepodobny and tumoral diffusion or knotty growths of closed glands and nek-ry parenchymatous bodies. Most often S. called an enlargement of the thyroid gland, a cut it is more correct to designate as craw (see). In a crust, time the term «struma» is practically not used.
