SPERANSKAYA Ekaterina Nikolaevna (1899 — 1978) — the Soviet physiologist, the member correspondent of AMH (1957). The member of the CPSU since 1944.
Ended Leningrad medical in-t in 1923. Still being a student, performed two works on questions of regulation of blood circulation in I. P. Pavlov's laboratory. In 1924 — 1925 the assistant to department of physiology of the 1st Leningrad medical in-that, since 1925 the assistant to department of pharmacology of IEM, from 1933 to 1945 the manager. laboratory of endocrinology of VIEM; doctor of medical sciences (1935), professor (1939). Since 1945 manager. laboratory of endocrinology in Ying-those evolutionary physiology and pathology of higher nervous activity of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences, since 1950 the manager. laboratory of endocrinology Ying-that physiology of I. P. Pavlov of Academy of Sciences of the USSR. At the same time in 1932 — 1942 the associate professor, and then the manager. laboratory and professor of department of physiology Leningrad un-that, in 1951 — 1953 of the department chair of pharmacology Leningrad veterinary in-that. During the Great Patriotic War worked in hospitals of Leningrad.
E. N. Speranskaya is the author of 170 works, including 5 monographs devoted to hl. obr. experimental endocrinology and physiology of the autonomic nervous system. It developed an operational method of studying of abnormal liver functions, to-ry gave the chance to investigate ways of receipt to a liver of insulin and it fiziol. action on a liver. By it it is established that removal of a hypophysis or dysfunction of a thyroid gland leads to decrease in synthetic and disintoxication ability of a liver; influence of closed glands on secretion and motility of a small bowel and a stomach is shown; the role of endocrine factors in activity of a nervous system, communication of a functional condition of a cerebral cortex with endocrine shifts is revealed; data on uslovnoreflektorny regulation of an inkretion of insulin, about the mechanism of effect of hormones of a thyroid gland on a cerebral cortex, its influence on a current of a diabetes mellitus are obtained. It also described action of a row pharmakol. substances and hormones on action of the heart at various functional conditions of a nervous system; activity of mediators of century of N of page at various forms of pathology is studied and a role of hormones in these processes.
E. N. Speranskaya was board member and the deputy chairman Ob-va of endocrinologists of Leningrad, the board member of the Leningrad department All-Union about-va physiologists, pharmacologists and biochemists, the member of a redsovet of the «Problems of Endocrinology and Hormonal Therapy» magazine.
It is awarded by the Order of Lenin, medals.
