SPARGANOSIS (sparganosis) — the helminthosis from group of tsestodoz caused by larvae of lentets — plerotserkoidam and characterized by damage of internals, eyes, hypodermic cellulose, muscles.

Page it is for the first time described by P. Munson in 1882 in China. The disease is widespread preferential in the countries of Southeast Asia; it is registered also in Australia, Africa, South America, the USA, etc. In the USSR one case of S. in the Far East is known.

Activator Villages at the person — plerotserkoida, to-rykh consider a larval stage of a tape-worm from number difil-lobotriid — Spirometra erinacei eu-ropaei (Rudolphi, 1819). Final owners of a tape-worm — dogs, cats, foxes, wolves, tigers, leopards, etc., at to-rykh adult lenteets live in a small bowel. Eggs of a tape-worm develop in water, free germs (koratsidiya) are swallowed by intermediate owners — crustaceans Cyclops (Mesocyclops leuckarti claus, M. of obsoletus, etc.), in an organism to-rykh turn into procercoids. During the swallowing water with the infected crustaceans Cyclops procercoids get into an intestinal wall of additional owners — frogs, snakes, birds, mammals and the person, and after migration are localized in connecting fabric of various bodies, under skin, under a conjunctiva of an eye, in muscles where turn in plerotserkoid. Length of plerotserkoid is up to 60 cm, width is 2 — 3 mm.

The person catches as a result of a proglatyvaniye with not decontaminated water of the crustaceans Cyclops infested by procercoids and also at consumption of not boiled thoroughly meat of the birds, frogs and snakes containing plerotserkoida.

In pathogeny Pages major factors are a sensitization of an organism and mechanical impact on fabrics of larvae of lentets.

Wedge, picture depends on localization of plerotserkoid. At S. of eyes there are severe pains, dacryagogue, hypostasis and a ptosis a century. Parasitizing of larvae in hypodermic cellulose and muscles is followed by a skin itch, a small tortoiseshell, feeling of movement of helminth. Single defeats of a plerotserkoidama of lungs, kidneys, a brain, heart, intestines, bladder, urethra are described. A wedge, the course of such defeats is not studied. The long invasion can lead to an elefantiaz (see. Elephantiasis ). As well as at other fabric helminthoses, at S. in blood comes to light eosinophilia (SEE).

Diagnosis The page is based on definition of specific accessory of the helminths extracted at an operative measure or at a biopsy with the diagnostic purpose (see. Helmintologic methods of a research ) .

Treatment diseases operational. At impossibility of carrying out operation apply intravenously solution of Novarsenolum in doses of 0,3 — 0,45 g at an interval of 4 — 5 days, only 4 injections.

Forecast serious, especially at damage of eyes, a brain and internals.

Prevention: the use of not decontaminated water is excluded from open water sources, the crude and insufficiently thermally processed meat of birds, frogs, snakes.
