SHERESHEVSKY Nikolay Adolfovich

SHERESHYOVSKY Nikolay Adolfovich (1885 — 1961) is the Soviet therapist and the endocrinologist, the doctor of medicine (1914), professor (1933), zasl. scientist of RSFSR (1936).

In 1911 ended medical f-t Moscow un-that. In 1913 — 1915 trained in Germany under the leadership of B. Tsondek. In 1914 protected dokt. the thesis on the subject «Clinical Observations over a Vagotonia». About


of 1915 on 1918 managed therapeutic department of sanatorium near Moscow. From 1918 to 1921 served as the chief physician of a number of hospitals in Red Army. Since 1921 the associate professor of a course of clinical endocrinology of the 2nd MSU (nowadays the 2nd MMI). In 1932 — 1934 directed clinic All-Union in-that experimental endocrinology (nowadays Ying t of experimental endocrinology and chemistry of hormones of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences), from 1934 to 1953 was the director of it in-that. Since 1953 and until the end of life managed department of endocrinology of TsIU of doctors.

N. A. Shereshevsky is the author of the St. 100 scientific works devoted to questions of clinical endocrinology (see) including the guides to this discipline. In 1925 it for the first time revealed the endocrine syndrome later described by Turner (H. N of Turner) and which received the name of a syndrome of Shereshevsky — Turner (see Turner a syndrome).

N. A. Shereshevsky made the significant contribution to studying of clinic and development of methods of treatment of a diffusion toxic craw (see the Craw diffusion toxic). The method of a preparation for surgery of patients with a diffusion toxic craw consisting in purpose of drugs of iodine, a valerian and luminal is known as Shereshevsky's method. He paid much attention to studying of pituitary and adrenal diseases and a local craw. On its initiative the Central antigoitrogenic commission at M3 of the USSR was created, the chairman a cut he was for a number of years.

It is awarded by two Orders of Lenin, an award of the Labour Red Banner and medals.
