SEXUAL DESIRE (synonym libido) — one of the main biological motivations (motives) of the person, to-rykh depends on satisfaction existence of the individual and a sort. The conscious aspiration to reproduction is more expressed at women.

The term «sexual desire» for the first time applied in 1897 Mr. A. Moll. It allocated two of its components: aspiration to a touch and relaxation. Supporters of psychoanalysis considered P. century the main and defining motivation of mental activity of the person. But this concept did not satisfy even followers 3. Freida, many from to-rykh denied the leading role of sexual motives.

The item of century includes, according to G. S. Vasilchenko, a power (neurohumoral) component and a sexual dominant. The last causes sexual and erotic coloring of P. of century, switching attention to a sexual object. If the power component is connected with functioning of inborn anatomo-physiological complexes, then the sexual dominant represents a phenomenon system, including as heavy-duty bonds on a basis for-pechatlevaniya, (imprinting) determined by early experience, and cortical, uslovnoreflektorny bonds and a psychoemotional spirit. P.'s complexity of century at the person — private manifestation of its biosocial nature. Time of emergence of P. of century is characterized by considerable constancy within a look and fluctuates within the individual constitution. With age P. becomes complicated century and can be shown in various forms: conceptual, Platonic, erotic, actually sexual, and also in the form of mature sexuality. Mean elementary ideas of sexual distinctions on a neutral emotional background by a conceptual form P. of century-. Normal the conceptual form P. of century is observed at the children of younger age differentiating sexual distinctions only on conditional external signs, napr on clothes. Platonic P. demonstrates century formation of the highest psikhol. installations, free from specific interest in the genital sphere, it is also shown in romantic imaginations. At erotic P. century the aspiration to intimate communication, confessions, caress with unconscious attention of hl is characteristic. obr. to extragenital erogenous zones. Actually sexual P. can proceed century against the background of specifically painted emotions with accurate accentuation of interest in the genital sphere (spontaneous erections, masturbatorny excesses, etc.). These forms P. of century are observed in certain age periods of an ontogeny and have various duration at representatives of a different floor. The erotic form which is hardly planned and passing at most of young men, at girls and women quite often completes individual sexual development. At various diseases some forms P. of century can sometimes be shown out of communication with the corresponding age periods. So, the conceptual form quite often acts as the main and final at an oligophrenia. At normal psychological development and puberty the harmonious ratio of conceptual, romantic, erotic and sexual and sensual aspects is noted that it is organically connected with system of moral and ethical qualities of the personality. At the same time the person, as a rule, finds an opportunity to control the sexual behavior. P.'s norm of century should be considered its expressiveness at mature age when all psychophysiological manifestations are counterbalanced and the sexual sphere takes a certain place in individual activity of the person.

P.'s intensity of century depends on specific features of an organism, the identity of the person and conditions of education, the provocative or suppressing development by P. century.

In the period of youthful hyper sexuality (P.'s increase of century) there is a formation of cortical uslovnoreflektorny complexes then they remain for the rest of life, providing usually normal expression of P. of century. The involutional period is characterized by P.'s fading century when the esthetic component can remain the only manifestation of P. of century. Women in a climacteric sometimes have temporary strengthening of sexual desire.

Among the reasons of decrease in P. of century the important place is taken by psychological diseases and homosexual tendencies. Can lead also various somatopathies, endocrinopathies, avitaminosis to P.'s decrease of century. According to N. V. Ivanov, at women P.'s decrease of century is often noted at obesity.

The inadequate orientation of P. of century can be shown that the subject or P. of century appears an object of sexual satisfaction is shown to persons of the same floor (see. Sexual perversions ). Complaints to P.'s increase of century meet quite seldom. Excessive increase in P. of century at men (satiriazis) and at women (nymphomania) is considered as pathology. The nymphomania can be shown in strengthening of an inclination to repeated sexual intercourses. Disturbances of activity of limbic system are the cornerstone of this frustration.

Premature emergence of P. of century sometimes hmozht to be observed at children's age, a thicket at girls who are sometimes initiators of intimacy. By data To. X. Kayumova, early awakening of P. of century in 72,6% of cases has cerebral genesis, in 13,1% — inborn, in 14,3% of cases it is connected with tumoral damage of adrenal glands and gonads.

Therapeutic actions at P.'s disturbances shall be directed to elimination of the reasons causing them century. The most effective measures of maintenance of P. of century at advanced age is preservation of muscular activity, the balanced food, observance of an individual sexual rhythm.
