SCHUKINA Maria Nikolaevna (1902 — 1973) is the Soviet chemist-organik, zasl. scientist and RSFSR equipment (1964). Member of the CPSU.
After the termination chemical f-that Moscow un-that (1924) and postgraduate studies (1929) taught in the Moscow highest technical school. In 1937 — 1940 the senior research associate Ying-that organic chemistry of Academy of Sciences of the USSR. From 1940 to 1972 worked at All-Union research chemical and pharmaceutical institute where since 1949 directed laboratory of synthesis of antitubercular connections. Doctor of Chemistry (1947), professor (1949).
M. N. Schukina is the author of St. 300 scientific works and inventions. M. N. Schukina's researches are devoted to creation and industrial production of new pharmaceuticals, development of new methods of synthesis, studying of dependence biol. activities of substances from their structure. With its direct participation industrial production of many effective drugs, including antitubercular (Ftivazidum, a solyuti-zone, etc.), psychotropic (aminazine, a prolazii, an imipramine, etc.), hypotensive (an airessina, Pentaminum), antimicrobic (Sulfapyridazinum, Amicazolum, etc.), diuretics (Diacarbum, Cyclomethiazidum), complexing connections (Pentacinum, Tetacinum-calcium) was developed and mastered. Its works on receiving an insecticide of DDT, synthesis of medicines, marked are known for radioisotopes of sulfur and carbon. The new class of organic compounds — derivatives 3,4 - diazafenoksazi - on is allocated to M. N. Schukina to which antidepressant Azaphenum implemented in production and medical practice belongs.
It is awarded by the Orders of Lenin, «the Sign of Honour» and medals.
