ROVSING Torkild (Rovsing Niels Thorkild, 1862 — 1927) — the Danish surgeon, professor. For a number of years managed surgical department and clinic of University of Copenhagen. Author of widely known works on abdominal surgery and urology. Published a course of clinical lectures on the general and specialty surgery for students and doctors. Gave the description of one of symptoms of an acute appendicitis — emergence of pain in the right ileal area at a palpation of the left ileal area and simultaneous pressing on the descending department of a colon (a symptom of Rovsinga). Offered operation of a gastropexy at a gastroptosis.
