PREOBRAZHENSKY Nikolay Aleksandrovich

PREOBRAZHENSKY Nikolay Aleksandrovich (sort. in 1918) — the Soviet otorhinolaryngologist, the academician of AMH (1975), the winner of the Lenin award (1964). Member of the CPSU.

Ended the 1st MMI in 1941. In the period of the Great Patriotic War was a doctor in field army. From 1947 to 1963 worked in clinic of diseases of an ear, throat and nose of the 1st MMI. In 1963 protected dokt. the thesis on «About Surgical Interventions on a Stirrup at an Otosclerosis». In 1963 — 1967 of the deputy director on scientific work Moscow research in-that fish soup, a throat and a nose of M3 of RSFSR. Since 1966 professor, and since 1974 the department chair of diseases of an ear, a throat and a nose; at the same time (1967 — 1972) vice rector for science of the 1st MMI. From 1976 to 1980 the academician-secretary of Department of clinical medicine of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences.

N. A. Preobrazhensky published the St. 200 scientific works devoted generally to a problem of tonsillitis, questions of physiology and pathology of acoustic organs and a vestibular analyzer, microsurgery of an ear and throat, use of new methods of treatment in otorhinolaryngology. It received 15 copyright certificates. Big contribution to domestic otorhinolaryngology were its researches on an electrophysiology of hearing, development of tools, the equipment and methods of use of cryoinfluence and ultrasound in otorhinolaryngology. These works were awarded three gold, silver and bronze medals of ENEA.

Preobrazhensky is chairman of the board Vsesoyuznogo scientific about-va otorhinolaryngologists, the chairman of Scientific council of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences on otorhinolaryngology, the member of presidium of Council scientific medical about-in M3 of the USSR; the editor-in-chief redotdet «Otorhinolaryngology» of BME, hl. the editor of the Bulletin of Otorhinolaryngology magazine, the honorary member scientific medical about-in otorhinolaryngologists of Bulgaria, Hungary, GDR» Poland, Czechoslovakia and Italy.

It is awarded by awards of the Labour Red Banner, Patriotic war of the II degree and medals.
