PRAEGNANTOLUM (Praegnantolum) — uterine means. Diethylaminoethyl ether 6-allyl-2-metoksifenola; With 16 H 25 NO 2 .

Causes vasoconstriction and reduction of muscles of a uterus, has weak alpha and adrenoceptor blocking effect. It was applied in the form of Praegnantolum of citrate at hypotonia of a uterus at the time of delivery, subinvolutions of a uterus in a puerperal period and uterine bleedings in a climacteric. The item citrate is excluded from the nomenclature of pharmaceuticals as outdated drug (the order of the Minister of Health of the USSR No. 904 of August 25, 1980).
