PLASMOCIDUM (Plasmocidum) — antimalarial means. Metilen-bissalitsilat 6-metoksi-8-(3 diethyl aminopropyl) - aminoquinoline.

Has gametotropny properties, has a nek-swarm effect on fabric forms of plasmodiums of malaria. Earlier it was applied to mass chemoprophylaxis of malaria and to the prevention of the remote recurrence of three - and a quartan malaria (in combination with gemoshizo-tropny drugs, in particular to Bigumalums).

Due to the high toxicity it is excluded from the nomenclature of pharmaceuticals (the order of the Minister of Health of the USSR No. 595 of July 2, 1974).
