PLASMALOGENS (synonym: atsetalfosfatida) — group of the phospholipids close on a structure to lecithin and to kephalins. Idiosyncrasy of P. is existence of vinyl group at one of OH-group of glycerin.

Fiziol, P.'s role is insufficiently clear, however believe that these phospholipids actively participate in a metabolism in some fabrics, in particular muscular and nervous.

P.'s maintenance serves as auxiliary diagnostic test at inflammatory diseases of a liver, a pulmonary tuberculosis in blood serum, etc.

The general formula P. has the following appearance:

where R — sincaline, ethanol amine or serine.

Depending on the nature of the radical of R distinguish choline, ethanolamine or serinovy P. Zhirnye to - you, P. which are a part, can be both saturated, and unsaturated.

On physical. - to chemical properties P. are similar to other phospholipids. They are rastvorima in acetic to - those, alcohol, chloroform, badly rastvorima in acetone. Lability in acid medium where they are hydrolyzed to the corresponding aldehyde and a lizofosfatid containing preferential unsaturated fat to - you is characteristic of P. Thanks to this property P. find so-called plasma - the left reaction: the aldehyde which is formed in acid medium of P. interacts with fuksinsernisty to - that therefore the characteristic coloring caused by formation of complex connection develops.

Items are found in many bodies and tissues of animals and the person. In a brain, a cardiac muscle and skeletal muscles P.'s maintenance reaches 20% of total quantity of phospholipids. Least of all P. is in a liver. P.'s maintenance in fabrics can change with age and at some diseases. Increase in maintenance of P. in a liver along with increase in contents in it in cholesterol and increase in quantity fat to - t with a short hydrocarbon chain note at hron, parenchymatous hepatitis, and also at some mikobakterialny infections. At patients with an acute hepatitis and a pulmonary tuberculosis in an initial stage of a disease P.'s maintenance in blood serum decreases. P.'s concentration in blood serum is a sensitive indicator of the slightest nonspecific irritations and a stress. At small irritations P.'s concentration in blood serum decreases, at strong — increases. During the aging P.'s number in fabrics decreases while the general maintenance of lipids usually increases.

P.'s maintenance is defined by means of reaction to the highest aldehydes, to-ruyu out after acid methanolysis of the Item. The formed aldehydes find reaction with n-nitrophenylhydrazine. P.'s definition by Gottfried's method — the Rapport is based on quantitative determination of content of vinyl group in the studied samples by their processing by solution of iodine in iodide potassium and spektro-photometry at 335 nanometers. Modification of this method is the yodometrichesky method of determination of content of P. (Williams's method) based on measurement of amount of the iodine contacting vinyl group of a molecule P.

P.'s maintenance in serum of healthy people determined by Gottfried's method — the Rapport, makes 7,4 mg in 100 ml, or 9,9 µmol in 100 ml (if to accept a pier. P.'s weight equal 750). At P.'s definition in blood serum according to Warner — Landsu (with fuksinsernisty to - that) their contents normal makes from 4,4 to 8,5 mg in 100 ml.
