PHYSIOTHERAPEUTIC CABINS of YoT (about t d e l e N and e) — the structural division of treatment and prevention facility intended for holding physiotherapeutic procedures.

T. to. or the physiotherapeutic departments (PD) would will be organized in, the having not less than 50 beds, and policlinics in the presence in their shtaga not less than 10 doctors conducting outpatient appointment. V F. to. apply the main methods of physical therapy (electro-, sacred and a thermotherapy), carry out to FO also water - and mud cure. FO can be base for preparation on physical therapy of doctors and paramedical staff.

In pre-revolutionary Russia F. to. existed in single to lay down. institutions. From 36 large BCs which were available in Moscow by 1913, T. to. were organized only in five: Old and Ekaterina's (nowadays Moscow awards of the Labour Red Banner regional research clinical institute of M. F. Vladimir), Bakhru-shinskoy (nowadays Ostroumovsky), the 1st and 4th town, Sheremetyevskoy (nowadays Moscow city Order of Lenin and Labour Red Banner of Scientific Research Institute of Emergency Medicine of

N. V. Sklifosovsky). Several private F. to. and clinics it was open in 1914 — 1917 in Petrograd, Oryol, Rostov-on-Don, Arkhangelsk and some other the cities of the European part of Russia.

Only after the Great October socialist revolution which provided creation in our country of the state system of medical aid the network of physiotherapeutic divisions was created. In 1933 in RSFSR 312 physiotherapeutic offices (departments) in and 503 offices in out-patient and polyclinic institutions would function. Special attention was paid to ensuring the physiotherapeutic help of the working industrial enterprises with all types.

So far number F. to. and FO in our country exceeded 20 thousand. Them almost all would have city for adults, apprx. 80% of children's BCs, all central regional-tsy.

Capacity F. to. and FO is defined by the sizes of the room, conditions of an arrangement of an office in to lay down. - the prof. institutions, number and arrangement fiziotera-

Rooms for holding physiotherapeutic procedures shall be dry and light, height of the room — not less than 3 m. Placement F. to. and FO in basement, semibasement and socle rooms, a floor to-rykh is located below a planning mark of the sidewalk more than on 0,5 m, it is forbidden (see Bolyshchny construction).

At the organization electro-and phototherapic F. to. the smallest space reserved on each stationary device would make sq.m (in the presence of one device room space shall be not less than 12 zh2). The size of the room a fotariya (see) is defined by dimensions of the equipment, but there should not be

less than 16 sq.m. For microwave therapy (see) allocate the placement of 9 sq.m in size on one device (the minimum area in the presence of one device — not less than 12 sq.m). The relation of the area of windows to the area of a floor in electro-and phototherapic F. to. makes 1:6 — 1:7. Artificial illumination at the level of 0,8 m from a floor at filament lamps shall be of not less than 75 lx, at fluorescent lamps — 150 lx. In electro-and phototherapic offices the covering of a floor and use for curtains of procedural cabins of the synthetics creating electrostatic charges is forbidden. A floor in rooms for holding electro-and phototherapic procedures is done wooden or covered with linoleum. Walls of electro-phototherapic placements on

height of 2 m paint an oil paint, other part of walls and a ceiling — glue. Air temperature is maintained not lower than 20 °.

For holding electro-and phototherapic procedures equip cabins, frameworks to-rykh are executed from plastic or wooden racks or from metal pipes, free from grounding. In a cabin install only one stationary physiotherapeutic device and one couch. Placement of procedural couches in cabins in close proximity to water and gas pipes is strictly forbidden. Each room for electro-and phototherapy has the independent feeding power line. Metal cases and supports of electro-and phototherapic devices, to-rye can appear energized, are subject to protective grounding (see the Accident prevention). Resistance of the grounding device shall be no more than 4 ohms.

Group inhalations carry out in the certain room, the area to-rogo is defined at the rate of

4 sq.m on 1 device (in the presence of one device room space shall be not less than 12 sq.m). Performing inhalations in electro-and phototherapic offices is forbidden. Walls of the room for inhalations cover on height of 2 m with a glazed tile, and a floor — linoleum. Temperature in an inhalation office shall be not lower than 20 °.

For parafino-and ozoceritotherapies allocate the certain placement of 6 sq.m on a workplace (the minimum room space at one couch of 12 sq.m). In addition for heating easily flammable ozokerite (see) and paraffin (see) allocate the room not less than 8 sq.m equipped with the draft. For parafino-and ozoceritotherapies (see) provide the room with fire extinguishers.

Walls gryaze-and balnearies cover with a glazed tile, a floor — a rough metlakhsky tile. A floor in a balneary shall have a weak bias in the direction of grids for discharge of water. For heating of a floor under it lay pipes of heating or hot water supply. For preparation and storage of dirt allocate special rooms. Delivery of dirt from grya-zekhranilishch in to lay down. the hall it has to be mechanized. The electrical wiring in gryaze-and balnearies shall be hidden, plug sockets and switches moisture-proof. Air temperature in gryaze-and hydropathic halls is supported at the level of not lower than 25 °, relative humidity shall not exceed 75%.

For performing massage (see) allocate the certain placement at the rate of 8 sq.m on a workplace. At the same time the minimum room space (during the work of one massage therapist) makes 12 l*2. Air temperature indoors for massage shall not be lower than 20 °. During the simultaneous work in change of 4 and more massage therapists for them it is recommended to equip shower installation in the adjacent room.

Harmful factors for working in F. to. and FO are electromagnetic and radoactive radiations, ultrasound transferred in the contact way to hands working, high concentration of ozone, hydrogen sulfide and other chemical substances in air. For protection against action of the electromagnetic fields created by devices for microwave therapy (see. The electromagnetic field), cabins shield fabric with a microwire, in a cut there are no openings, regions shall find it in the place of an entrance to a cabin at each other not less than on 10 cm Besides, for protection of eyes use radioza-shchitny points. Operation of devices for UVCh-therapy (see) it is allowed at setup of a therapeutic contour in a resonance with generating, at the same time the total distance between each of condenser plates and a body of the patient shall not exceed 6 cm for devices of low power and 8 cm for devices of big power.

For prevention of impact of mechanical oscillations during the holding procedures of ultrasonic therapy (see) under water the personnel use the made of cloth and rubber gloves which are not passing ultrasound. During the procedure of UF-ob-lucheniya the nurse shall put on safety spectacles with dark glasses.

For purification of air of harmful chemical substances in rooms F. to. and FO establish positive-pressure ventilation (see). Heating of paraffin and ozokerite, preparation of solutions for artificial hydrosulphuric bathtubs, storage of portion bottles with solution of radon carry out in hoods with a speed of the movement of air not less than 0,7 m/s.

Medical staff F. to. and FO has the shortened working hours and additional annual vacation. The extra charge to a salary is established to the medical staff working at devices for UVCh-therapy or in rooms where treatment is carried out by dirt, hydrosulphuric, sulphurous, carbonic bathtubs, and also the medical staff occupied with preparation of radonic bathtubs.

All personnel F. to. and FO is obliged to undergo medical inspection of 1 — 2 time a year (see. Medical examination). Work in F. to. and FO is prohibited the persons having the hypertension of the III stage, psychoneuroses, epilepsy expressed by disturbances of cerebral circulation. On devices for the microwave oven - and UVCh-therapies do not allow to work also persons under 18. Pregnant women are exempted from work with generators of electromagnetic oscillations.

In the organization of work F. to. and FO at the present stage allocate the increasing value for the factors facilitating work of medical staff. Use washing machines for washing of hydrophilic laying, drying ovens with electroheating, the medical clock with an audible signal (buzzer) informing on the end of the procedure, mobile little tables for the portable equipment, an intercom, etc. - and mud baths enter automation of a fence, heating and supply of dirt into water in to lay down. offices, fillings of bathtubs with water.

Number of physiotherapists in F. to. and FO of BC depends on quantity of hospital beds, in F. to. policlinics — from the number of the doctors conducting reception.

Number of nurses on physical therapy in F. to. and FO establish at the rate of 1 position on 15 thousand conventional physiotherapeutic units a year (for conventional physiotherapeutic unit work is taken over, on carrying out the cut is required 8 min.).

The main part of operating time of the physiotherapist is allowed for reception of patients, purpose of a technique and dosage of influence to lay down. a physical factor, filling of a case history or the card of an ambulatory, the procedural card, and also on consultation with doctors of other specialties. Besides, overseeing by work of an office, control of the correct operation of the equipment, increase in level of knowledge of paramedical staff belongs to duties of the doctor.

The physical therapy nurse carries out the physiotherapeutic procedures appointed by the doctor, watches their portability patients, makes the schedule of visit by patients F. to., regulates a flow of patients in an office, controls a state and the correct operation of physiotherapeutic devices (see the Nurse).

The obligatory officially approved documentation of work F. to. and FO are a dossier (see Documentation medical), the magazine of registration of briefing according to the accident prevention, the control technical journal on repair of the equipment and its routine maintenance. Official documents are also passport F. to. or FO containing the characteristic of the room, the list of the available devices and terms of their operation, the staff list, the log-book of primary patients.

Main indicators of activity F. to. and FO serve number of the patients who received treatment, and the number of the performed physiotherapeutic procedures (not less than 15 thousand a year on each physical therapy nurse).
