FTAZYN (Phthazinum; joint venture. B) — antibacterial agent from group of sulfanamide drugs. 6-(couple - ftalilaminobenzoilsulfa-nilamido) - a 3-ma of t about to with both p and r and d and z and N; C19H1606N4S:

White crystal powder, low solubility in water, well soluble in solutions of weak alkalis and hot alcohol.

Like sulfaguanidine (see) and to Ftalazolum (see) F. it is badly soaked up from intestines after intake. In a small bowel it is slowly hydrolyzed with formation of Sulfapyridazinum (see), to-ry collects in a large intestine in high concentration and provides action on an indestinal flora, including pathogenic (causative agents of dysentery, coloenterites). Formed from F. Sulfapyridazinum is partially soaked up in blood and thanks to slow removal from an organism collects in blood in therapeutic concentration that distinguishes F. from Ftalazolum. In this regard F. along with influence on microflora in intestines shows also resorptive action that provides more expressed to lay down. effect at severe toxic forms of dysentery or at the dysentery and coloenterites complicated by a consecutive bacterial infection.

T. apply at bacterial dysentery (see) and bacterial coloenterites (see Enteritis).

Appoint inside the adult

1 g to reception of 1 — 2 time a day in the first day of treatment, in the next days on 0,5 g on reception 2 times a day. The course of treatment proceeds

5 — 7 days. To children of a dose reduce according to age. T. at patients with easy and medium-weight forms of dysentery renders bystry to lay down. action (normalization of temperature on 1 — 2 - y day, disappearance of the phenomena of intoxication and abdominal pains on 2 — the 3rd day, normalization of a chair on 4 — the 5th day). At patients with heavy disease and in some cases at medium-weight forms of a disease F. combine from tetracycline mi (see) or other antibiotics. At coloenterites depending on weight of process drug is appointed in the same doses, as at treatment of dysentery.

T. can cause the same side reactions, as other sulfanamide drugs (dispeptic frustration, allergic reactions, etc.). It is contraindicated in the presence in the anamnesis of allergic reactions to sulfanamide drugs.

Form of release: tablets on 0,5 g. Storage: in the dry, protected from light place.
