PETTENKOFERA TEST ( M. J. Pettenkofer , it is mute. the doctor and the hygienist, 1818 — 1901) — qualitative test on the content in urine of bile acids. Test is that add a small amount of solution of ordinary sugar to 10 ml of urine, shake up before emergence of foam which in case of positive test at addition of concentrated sulphuric acid becomes purple-red.
