PANCHENKO Dmitry Ivanovich (sort. in 1906) — the Soviet neuropathologist, the doctor of medical sciences (1941), professor (1946), the honored worker of science of USSR (1951). The member of the CPSU since 1926.
Ended VMA in 1932. In days of Great Otechestv, war was the chief neuropathologist of a number of fronts.
Since 1946 the department chair of nervous diseases, and since 1948 — the rector Lviv medical in-that. In 1952 — 1978 of the department chair of nervous diseases of the Kiev GIDUV and at the same time (1952 — 1964) chief neuropathologist of M3 of USSR.
D. I. Panchenko published St. 200 scientific works, including 14 monographs, generally on problems of pathology of a peripheral nervous system. It described a syndrome of the combined defeat of vessels of a brain, heart and the lower extremities (1941), diagnostic tests and methods of a research of diseases of a nervous system (Buddha's phenomenon, 1940; modification of the lower symptom of Barret, 1941). It possesses the idea of creation of the first biotron (see. Barotherapy ) and its practical implementation in the Kiev Region-tse.
D. I. Panchenko is the chairman of Ukrainian about-va neuropathologists and psychiatrists (since 1967), the editor-in-chief of the Medical Business magazine (since 1960) and the editor redotdet «Neurology» of BME.
It is awarded by awards of the October Revolution, the Labour Red Banner (two), Patriotic wars of the I degree, the Red Star (two), «the Sign of Honour» and medals.
