PALANGA

PALANGA — the klimatobalneologichesky resort of a forest zone in the Lithuanian SSR located on the bank of the Baltic Sea in 25 km from Klaipeda.

Annual average temperature 6 °, rainfall apprx. 640 mm, humidity apprx. 83%; winter soft (average temperature of January — 3y), summer cool (average temperature of July 17 °). Water of the sea cool (in the summer on average temperature 18 °). Wide sandy beaches with dunes, behind them a strip of the wood.

Medical factors: sea bathings, klimatoterapevtichesky procedures, chloride sodium mineral water of a high mineralization (L of 119.4 g! the l, t ° 20 °, pH 6,8), used for drink (in a divorced look) and for bathtubs, and also peat dirt (pH 6,0 — 6,6, 78 of % of organic matters) got in the neighborhood of P.

Imeyutsya all-resort policlinic, balneo a clinic, the pump room and drinking gallery, sanatoria functions branch of the Kaunas scientific research institute of physiology and pathology of cardiovascular system, rest house, boarding houses, camp sites, campings.
