LYCORINE (Lycorinum; joint venture. A) — expectorant; the alkaloid which is contained in a number of plants this. amarillisovy (Amaryllidaceae) and lily family (Liliaceae). In medical practice apply in the form of lycorine of a hydrochloride (Lycorini hydrochloridum).

Lycorine hydrochloride — white powder with a grayish-yellow shade, we will difficult dissolve in water, it is not enough — in alcohol. In small doses has expectorant effect due to strengthening of secretion of bronchial glands and fluidifying of a phlegm; reduces spasms of bronchial muscles.

Apply at acute and hron, inflammatory processes in lungs and bronchial tubes. Appoint inside 0,0001 — 0,0002 g 3 — 4 times a day. In higher doses drug makes sick and vomiting.

Drug is contraindicated at open forms of a pulmonary tuberculosis and other diseases with tendency to pulmonary bleedings, at organic diseases of c. N of page and cardiovascular system, at stomach ulcer and a duodenum, damages of a gullet with tendency to bleedings.

Form of release: the tablets containing 0,0002 g of lycorine of a hydrochloride and 0,2 g of hydrosodium carbonate. Keep in the cool, protected from light place.
