László's HARANG (Haranghy Lasz-16, 1897 — 1975) — Hungarian a pas
tologoanaty and the gerontologist, professor (1940), the academician. Hungarian academy of Sciences (1948).
After the termination of the Budapest and Debrecen high fur boots from 1923 to 1940 the manager worked. pathoanatomical department of hospital in Baya. From 1940 to 1945 professor of department of pathological anatomy and forensic medicine in Kolozhvare (nowadays Kluzh), from 1945 to 1952 worked in Maroshvasharkheyi. From 1952 to 1967 the manager. the 2nd department of pathological anatomy medical in-that of
of I. Zemkhmelveys in Budapest. In 1958 organized biological laboratory at department, and from 1963 to 1967 at the same time headed gerontological department un-that.
Main scientific works of J1. Harang are devoted to problems of tumoral growth
and aging. A subject of its researches were: a pathogeny a lymph
of a granulomatosis (see), morphology of processes of aging, the nature of lipofuscin (see), morfol. proyav
line of aging of marrow and spleen, patomorfol. features of tuberculosis at persons of advanced and senile age, questions of history of gerontology. JI. Harang held the opinion that aging is natural biological, but not pathological process. He considered that life expectancy is genetically programmed.
J1. Harang was the organizer and the president (since 1966). Hungarian about-va gerontologists, the member of Scientific council of the Ministry of Health, the president Hungarian about-va pathologists.
