KVIKA-PYTELYA TEST

From Big Medical Encyclopedia

KVIKA-PYTELYA TEST (A. J. Quick, amer. doctor, sort. in 1894; A. Ya. Pytel , Soviet urologist, sort. in 1902) — a method of a research of anti-toxic function of a liver by determination of amount of hippuric acid in urine after introduction to an organism of the sodium benzoate.

It is offered by Kvik in 1933, for a wedge, uses it is modified by A. Ya. Pytel in 1941.

Destruction of the sodium benzoate happens in a liver at connection of the benzoic to - you to glycine in the presence of enzyme of a gippuraza; as a result of it it is formed benzaminoacetic to - that, allocated with urine. The reduced education in a liver benzaminoacetic to - you can depend on insufficient ability of hepatic cells to synthesize glycine, on damage of the enzymatic mechanism controlling connection of the benzoic to - you with glycine. Exist oral and intravenous To. — Pct

Oral test

Hour later later breakfast consisting of a glass of coffee and 50 g of crackers, give to the patient in 4 g of the sodium benzoate dissolved in 30 ml of water. The accepted sodium benzoate of the patient washes down with a glass of water and right there empties a bladder for receiving control urine. During 4 hours hourly collect urine and in every portion determine content benzaminoacetic to - you. Each of the received 4 portions of urine and a portion of control urine are acidified by 1 — 2 ml konts. salt to - you before emergence of a reddish shade also investigate an indicator piece of paper with congo red; if the piece of paper becomes blue, add some more drops to - you. Every portion urine carefully shake up until sedimentation of crystals benzaminoacetic to - you are full. Then the deposit is left to stand within an hour at the room temperature. Benzaminoacetic to - that is filtered on in advance tared filters, washed out a distilled water and dried up to constant weight (in a drying oven or on a suspended framework over an electric tile). Quantity benzaminoacetic to - you determine by either weighing, or titration by two-decinormal solution of caustic soda with phenolphthalein. At calculation to the received quantity benzaminoacetic to - you add the quantity it which is usually contained always in urine in the dissolved state (100 ml at the room temperature contain 0,33 g benzaminoacetic to - you). Subtract the weight of the filter and weight from the received figure benzaminoacetic to - you in the control urine collected before conducting this test. The received number is multiplied by coefficient 0,68 benzaminoacetic to - you to express quantity in equivalent amounts of the sodium benzoate.

Intravenous test

Intravenous test is carried out at disturbances of secretory and motor function went. - kish. path. To the patient several minutes prior to administration of solution of the sodium benzoate allow to drink 2/z a glass of rather weak tea or coffee. Then the patient empties a bladder for receiving control urine. After that intravenously slowly enter freshly cooked solution of the sodium benzoate (1,77 g of the sodium benzoate dissolved in 20 ml of a distilled water). Hour and two hours of the patient later urinates again. To each 10 ml of collected urine add 5 g of solid ammonium sulfate and determine quantity benzaminoacetic to - you by a technique of oral test.

Most of healthy people distinguishes within the first hour 0,7 — 0,95 g benzaminoacetic to - you. Its definition in two portions is caused by the fact that normal quantity benzaminoacetic to - you can be allocated within not the first, but the second hour of a research.

Results of definition are expressed percentage of that quantity benzaminoacetic to - you, a cut is allocated normal.

About disturbance of anti-toxic function liver (see) it is possible to speak if less than 80% of the sodium benzoate accepted inside are allocated (not less than 3 g benzaminoacetic to - you). The sharp deviation in fractional allocation benzaminoacetic to - you at its reduced total quantity is considered as display of the latent liver failure and is observed at various acute and hron, parenchymatous damages of a liver; at mechanical jaundice test does not give aberrations.

Reduction of allocation benzaminoacetic to - you are observed at diseases went. - kish. a path, insufficiency of protein in food, frustration funkts, conditions of kidneys, at pregnancy, anemias, a diabetes mellitus, malignant new growths. For the correct assessment of results To. — The pct should exclude these states.
