IMPERIAL GREEN - histologic dye, derivative crystal violet, used for identification of chromatin of cellular kernels. M z. it is often contaminated by methyl violet. The last leaves agitation in chloroform. M.'s coloring z. carry out in the neutral or subacidic environment. The greatest distribution was gained by mixes M. z. with pyronin for the differentiated identification of DNA of kernels (green color) and RNA of cytoplasm (red color).
