HOT KEY (byvsh. Psekups) — the balneological foothill resort of a steppe zone in the Apsheron district of Krasnodar Krai. It is located in 65 km from Krasnodar at the height of 72 m above sea-level in the foothills of the Caucasian ridge in the picturesque valley of the river Psekups. Mineral springs are known to locals since ancient times. In 1864 the military hospital, the simplest piping of sources and a swimming bath, in 1890 bathing buildings were constructed. The resort gained development at the Soviet power.

The climate is characterized in the soft winter (in January average monthly t ° — 1 °) with short snow cover and in the warm solar summer (in July average monthly t ° 22 °). The spring is slightly colder than fall. Rainfall for a year of 855 mm. The smallest average monthly relative humidity in August — 55%, the greatest in January — 78%. Number of hours of sunshine in a year 2102.

Main remedies of the resort: thermal (t ° 50 — 60 °), the hydrogen-sulfide gidrokarbonatno-chloride sodium waters used for bathtubs, drinking treatment, inhalations, intestinal washings, vaginal irrigations. Formula of chemical composition of water of one of sources (hard currency. 102 — E):

Water of this source, and also other sources with a hydrogen sulfide content of 0,064 — 0,09 g/l is applied to bathtubs. Water of boring hard currency is applied to inhalations. 63 bis with a hydrogen sulfide content of 0,142 g/l; for drinking treatment — water of colder sources (No. 20, 21 and 58) and with a smaller hydrogen sulfide content (from 0,005 to 0,038 g/l).

The medical base of the resort has two bathing buildings, drinking pump rooms, ingalyatoriy, offices of physical therapy, physiotherapy exercises, massage, x-ray, functional diagnosis, etc., and also clinicodiagnostic, biochemical and bacteriological laboratories. Well equipped polyclinic department services ambulatories. There are sanatoria for adults and children and rest house.

Indications: diseases of the digestive system, musculoskeletal system of not tubercular character, peripheral nervous system, skin and gynecologic. Hydrosulphuric bathtubs are contraindicated to patients hron, diseases of kidneys, a liver and the bilious ways which transferred an exacerbation of a disease within the last year.
