From Big Medical Encyclopedia

HLOPIN Nikolay Grigoryevich (1897 — 1961) is the Soviet histologist, the academician of AMH (1945), the winner of the State award USSR (1947). Major general of medical service.

In 1921 ended VMA, and in 1922 — natural department a fiziko-mat a mat p-cheskogo f-that Leni ngr infernal un-that. D. A. Maximov's pupil. Since 1921 the teacher, and from 1936 to 1955 the chief of department of histology and embryology of VMA. Along with 1928 within several years headed the laboratory of cytology organized by it in Leningrad oncological in-those, directed laboratory of experimental histology and fabric cultures in Ying-those experimental medicine. Since 1955 the manager. laboratory of experimental morphology Oncological in-that USSR Academy of Medical Sciences (Leningrad).

N. G. Hlopin one of the first beginnings widely to apply cultures of fabrics to studying of problems of a cellular differentiation, determination and classification of fabrics; along with A. A. Zavarzin is a founder of evolutionary histology. The theory of divergent development of fabrics is offered them, edges reflects historical conditionality of properties of fabrics and specific features of action in the fabric level of the general patterns of divergent evolution of organisms (see the Histogenesis). This theory allowed to understand more deeply essence of development, a structure and functions of fabrics in phylo-and ontogenesis, to prove the doctrine about determinancy (specificity) of properties of fabrics and to develop genetic system (classification) of tissues of vertebrata. It forms a basis for understanding of development of a row patol. processes — the tumoral growth, an inflammation, etc. N. G. Hlopin carried out the experimental and histologic analysis of tumoral fabrics of various origin. With direct participation and under the leadership of N. G. Hlopin questions of development and reactivity of many fabrics are studied (an epithelium, a vascular endothelium, a neuroglia, muscular tissue) it is normal, in the conditions of reparative regeneration and in fabric cultures.

N. G. Hlopin created large school of histologists to which A. G. Knorre, N. A. Shevchenko, V. P. Mikhaylov, Ya. A. Vinnikov, H belong. N. Kochetov, N. I. Grigoriev, III. D. Galustyan, etc. Results of researches of N. G. Hlopin and his school are generalized in monographs «Culture of Fabrics» (1940) and «All-biological and experimental fundamentals of histology» (1946). The latest work was conferred the State award USSR.

N. G. Hlopin was the chairman of the Leningrad department All-Union scientific about-va anatomists, histologists and embryologists.

It is awarded by the Order of Lenin, two awards of the Red Banner and medals.
