HAGEDORNA — YYONSENA METOD

(N. Ch. Hagedorn, Danish pharmacologist, sort. in 1888; Century of N. Jensen, sovr. the Danish biochemist) — the quantitative method of definition of concentration of glucose in blood based on its ability to recover in alkaline condition red blood salt in yellow; about concentration of glucose judge by the excess of red blood salt determined by yodometrichesky titration; the method does not differ in strict specificity since blood, except glucose, contains other substances having the recovering (reducing) properties therefore in laboratory practice use a specific glyukozooksi-dazny method — see Carbohydrates, methods of definition.
