GLAZUNOV Mikhail Fedorovich

GLAZUNOV Mikhail Fedorovich (1896 — 1967) — the Soviet pathologist, the academician of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences (1960; chl. - box, since 1946). Ended VMA in 1919. Till 1923 served as the army doctor in Red Army. From 1923 to 1925 it was improved at department of pathological anatomy of VMA; from 1925 to 1941 the teacher of the same department, at the same time (1929 — 1941) manager. pathoanatomical department Oncological in-that of H. M. F. Glazunov is an author apprx. 70 scientific works, including a number of monographs. It published more than 40 works devoted to a histogenesis, morphology, the nomenclature and classification of tumors, patomorfol, to the description of their separate forms (a neurinoma, an angiofibromatosis, a horn mollusk, an intermuscular myxoma, etc.), a problem of pretumor states, etc. Chapters for the work «Malignant Tumours» (1947) and the monograph «Tumours of Ovaries» (1954, 1961) are written to them.

M. F. Glazunov opened communication of deposits of paint with organoids of cytoplasm (1925 — 1926), developed gistogenetichesky approach to studying and verification of sarcomas, and also studied a fibrillogenesis in these tumors (1931 — 1934), a morphogenesis and dynamics of development of a fibroadenoma of a mammary gland (1938). In works on an experimental scurvy (1931 — 1941) and in dokt, theses (1935) he studied morphology of this disease and its development depending on a diet and age, processes of recovery at a scurvy.

The significant contribution was made by M. F. Glazunov in the organization of pathoanatomical service in field army, in studying of causes of death of wounded in the battlefield and stages of evacuation. It made the first in our country of «The instruction on pathoanatomical service» (1943) which in days of the Great Patriotic War were the main management for pathologists. He took active part in preparation of the collective work «Experience of the Soviet Medicine in the Great Patriotic War of 1941 — 1945.

M. F. Glazunov was an associate editor of the Questions of Oncology magazine, editorial council of the Archive of Pathology magazine, was repeatedly elected the deputy chairman Vsesoyuzny scientific about-va pathologists. «the sign of Honour» and medals is awarded by the Orders of Lenin, the Red Banner, the Red Star.
