GISTAMINOPEKSIYA (a histamine + Greek pexis fixing) — one of mechanisms of an inactivation of a histamine consisting in binding by its serum proteins. Paro (J. L. Parrot) with sotr is described. in 1953.

G.'s opening was preceded by Bend's description and Urkia (R. Benda, D. Urquia, 1949, 1950) the phenomena of a gistaminofilaksiya (protection against a histamine) at Guinea pigs. Animals, the Crimea intraperitoneally entered serum of the healthy person, became steady against a lethal dose of an aerosol of a histamine. Serum of patients with bronchial asthma had no such ability. At healthy people of GPI makes 30 — 40%, it is mostly equal in blood serum of patients with allergic diseases About or does not exceed 10%, and decrease in GPI (sometimes to 0) is noted long before a wedge, displays of a disease (bronchial asthma, a small tortoiseshell, migraine). Besides, decrease in GPI is possible at some other diseases: diseases of a liver, peptic ulcer, rheumatism, flu, syphilis, tuberculosis, myocardial infarction, late toxicoses of pregnancy, vegetovascular and rheumatic defeats of a hypothalamus.

GPI raises at the specific hyposensibilizing or nonspecific (hystoglobulin) therapy of allergic diseases (see. Gistaglobulin ). During the heating of blood serum of the healthy person within 20 min. at t ° 56 ° natural G. remains, and G. acquired in the course of treatment under these conditions disappears.

Mechanisms G. at healthy people and the reason of its decrease at patients are not quite clear. According to Paro with sotr., G. is caused by existence in blood of healthy people of special «gistaminopeksichesky» globulin, to-rogo is not present in blood at patients. It is in fraction of gamma pseudoglobulin. Potassium has the braking effect on G. If serum of the patient with an allergic disease by dialysis to deprive of potassium, GPI will increase up to 50%. Calcium strengthens G. if it was lowered. G.'s intensity is regulated by a front share of a hypophysis and bark of adrenal glands. Removal of these glands at rats leads to falloff of GPI. Decrease in GPI is noted and at patients is after the termination of prolonged treatment by corticosteroid drugs since their insufficiency of these glands is developed.

Opinions of researchers in assessment of GPI value disperse. Since zero GPI does not prove the allergic nature of a disease yet, its definition can be used only as additional reception of diagnosis of allergic diseases in a combination to specific diagnostic methods. Besides, determination of size GPI gives the chance to watch efficiency of the carried-out antiallergic treatment.
