GALVANOPALPATION [galvano (by name L. Galvani ) + lat. palpatio feeling] — a method of electrodiagnosis of diseases of internals and a peripheral nervous system by definition of painful sensitivity, vasomotor reaction and resistance of sites of skin at irritation a galvanic current. It is offered in 1922 Mr. of Kagane (M. to Kahane) and based on a community of a segmented innervation of internals and the corresponding dermatomes (see. Zakharyina-Geda of a zone ). Painful sensitivity and electroskin resistance are normal various on different body parts, but are always identical in symmetric points. From the center of defeat in sick body the irritation comes to a spinal cord, exciting sensory cells of the corresponding segment that causes a hyperesthesia of the sites of skin relating to this segment along with local changes of vasomotor reactions and electroskin resistance. The method G. reveals points of the changed sensitivity and on their segmented projection quite often allows to establish the struck body. In such points electroskin resistance decreases especially considerably and can be 20 — 30 times lower, than in symmetric or nearby the located dermatomas. E.g., at diseases of a gall bladder electroskin resistance decreases in the points located on crossing of a lobby of axillary and sredneklyuchichny lines with costal edge on the right.
For G. use the portable device of a galvanic current with the milliamperemeter. The bellied active electrode (cathode), as a rule, has the area of 6 mm 2 (fig.); apply an electrode of 0,5 mm to strict localization of a projective point 2 or electrode needle. Indifferent electrode (plate of 100 cm 2 ) fix in any body part. The size of threshold irritation (0,1 — 0,3 — 0,5 ma) is established on two — three obviously healthy sites of skin. The search contact shall not proceed more than 1 — 2 sec. Sensitive reaction in a projective point is characterized by intensive local pain, burning and trace pain of a giperpatichesky shade; vasomotor reaction is shown by the local, quite often towering dermographism; sometimes on site researches there is a herpetiform bubble or petekhialny hemorrhage. It is considered that the specified reactions of skin in a projective point are proportional to weight of defeat of appropriate authority, but they depend also on a condition of skin (its greasiness, perspiration, extent of intercellular and cellular hydration, changes of the epidermis, etc.) considered in each specific research. At G. the heads should be meant that distribution of sympathetic fibers on a boundary chain and their communication with the descending root of a trifacial cause existence not only segmented, but also spatially remote zones with their points of the maximum sensitivity.
It is applied generally to identification of the struck body at not clear picture of a disease. Can serve in expert practice of G. to one of methods of objectification of complaints inspected. As internals are located asymmetrically, identification of identical indicators of electroskin resistance in symmetric sites allows to doubt reliability of complaints.
The points found by means of G. can be used for nonspecific treatment — an anodization, a katodization, intradermal administration of novocaine. As the topography of projective points matches
localization of the nek-ry points used at acupuncture (see), apply also galvanization of points through an acupuncture needle (electroacupuncture).
