FILATOV Antonin Nikolaevich (1902 — 1974) is the Soviet surgeon and the hematologist, the academician of AMH (1966), zasl. scientist of RSFSR (1960), winner of the State award USSR (1952, 1975).

A. N. Filatov is the author of St. 350 scientific works on questions of surgery, hemotransfusion and hematology, including 13 monographs. He one of the first in the USSR implemented in practice a number of operations on the main blood vessels (an intimotrombekto-miya, a bypass anastomosis), developed knitted prostheses of blood vessels, proved a possibility of the return hemotransfusion, streamed in serous perigastriums of the patient at injuries and surgical interventions (see Hemotransfusion), created the preserving solutions of blood with antiseptic agents (see Conservation of blood), made a big contribution to studying of the reasons of posttransfusion reactions and complications, and also methods of their prevention and treatment. A. N. Filatov is a founder of fractionation of blood, for the first time in the world (1932) it carried out plasma transfusion of blood. It to one of the first in our country (1945) began to deal with issues of receiving and a clinical use of medical drugs from blood, such drugs as a fib-rinny film, fibrinny powder, Filatov's serum were offered them. Under its management a number of blood-substituting liquids (see) on the basis of a dextran and polyatomic alcohol is created.
A. N. Filatov developed questions of preparation, conservation and a clinical use of cadaveric bodies and fabrics. In 1946 at the initiative of A. N. Filatov in the Leningrad scientific research institute of hematology and hemotransfusion the USSR's first laboratory of conservation of bodies and fabrics was created.
The state awards of the USSR
A. N. Filatov is awarded for development of new methods of conservation of blood and receiving medical blood preparations (1952), and also for development and deployment in clinical practice of recovery and plastic surgeries on an aorta and its branches (1975).
And. II. Filatov was a member of editorial boards of magazines «Messenger of surgery of I. I. Grekov», «Problems of hematology and hemotransfusion». He was a member of a number of domestic and foreign science foundations.
