ERYTHRASMA (erythrasma; to paint Greek erythraino in red color) — chronically proceeding superficial bacterial disease of skin caused by korine-bacteria.
Activator E. Sogu-nebacterium of minutissimum Sarkany et al is., 1962. The centers of defeat have an appearance of the spots of noninflammatory character which are slightly shelled at a poskablivaniye; color varies them from yellow, zheltokrasny to red-brown; they can merge in quite large centers (to several centimeters in the diameter). The disease becomes aggravated during the spring and summer period. A number of patients has an eczematization of the centers E., i.e. there are bubbles, crusts, the itch, burning sensation develops.
The diagnosis establish on the basis a wedge, the picture confirmed in doubtful cases with detection in scrapings of scales from a surface of the centers (after processing of material of 10% by solution of caustic alkali) fine twisting septirovanny ends and kokkovidny cells of the activator. In beams of a lamp of Wood the centers of defeat give a coral-red luminescence that is caused by formation of the water-soluble porphyrine produced by korinebakteriya.
The differential diagnosis is carried out with rubromikozy (see the Tinea), an inguinal epidermophitia (see), eczema (see), psoriasis (see), candidiasis (see).
Treatment: appoint 5% Unguentum Erytgromycyni, to-ruyu rub in the centers 2 times a day within a week, 5% spirit solution salicylic to - you, at the acute inflammatory phenomena the centers of defeat grease 2% with spirit solution of iodine.
For prevention of a recurrence E. it is recommended to continue treatment within 12 — 14 days after disappearance a wedge, manifestations. For prevention E. it is necessary to follow rules of personal hygiene.
