ERGOMETRYN (Ergometrinum) —

the means stimulating a tone and sokratitelny activity of a myometrium; alkaloid of an ergot. In medical practice it is applied in the form of ergometrine of a maleate (Ergometrini ma-leas; synonym: Ergobasine maleate, Ergo-me trine maleate, Ergonovine maleate, Ergostabil, Panergal, Secomet-rin, etc.; joint venture. Б). (Z lysergic acid of lysergic acid maleate; C19H23N3O2 • C4H404:

Inodorous white crystal powder, we will dissolve in water and alcohol a little.

Exerts the stimulating impact on a tone and rhythmic sokratitelny activity of a myometrium. In this respect E. surpasses other alkaloids of an ergot — Ergotoxinum and ergotamine. In small doses E. increases force and frequency of reductions of a myometrium, to-rye at the same time alternate with relaxation of a uterus. At increase in a dose E. reductions of a uterus become stronger and long, the tone of a myometrium considerably raises. Promoting effect E. it is more expressed concerning the pregnant woman, than a nonpregnant uterus. Hypersensitivity of a myometrium to E. remains in the first days after the delivery. AA. raises a tone of blood vessels, including coronary and peripheral, can raise the ABP and reduce a blood stream in extremities.

At intake it is quickly and fully soaked up from went. - kish. a path and in max. concentration collects in a blood plasma in 60 — 90 min. Action continues several hours. E is metabolized. generally in a liver.

Apply at puerperal uterine bleedings, at an atony of a uterus, uterine bleedings after Cesarean section, bloody allocations after abortion, the menorrhagias, bleedings connected with hysteromyomas and also after manual department of an afterbirth, the slowed-down involution of a uterus. Styptic action E. it is connected with increase in a tone of a myometrium and a prelum thereof blood vessels of a uterus. Appoint inside 0,0002 — 0,0004 g 2 — 3 times a day, and also intramusculary and intravenously on 0,0001 — 0,0002 g (0,5 — 1 ml of 0,02% of solution).

Drug is well transferred. Sometimes causes dispeptic frustration, increase in the ABP and a tone of peripheral vessels. At poisoning E. there are nausea, vomiting, a diarrhea, abdominal pains, a headache, dizziness, an ataxy, dispnoe, a cold snap of extremities, disturbances of consciousness, spasms are possible. In case of poisoning E. at reception it is appointed inside by a gastric lavage, salt laxatives, parenterally enter spasmolysants, napr, a papaverine (see), at spasms intravenously — diazepam (see) or barbiturates, carry out oxygen therapy. For removal E. from an organism resort to an artificial diuresis and peritoneal dialysis. AA. it is contraindicated during pregnancy, in the first and second periods of childbirth, in the presence of an afterbirth in a uterus, and also at coronary insufficiency, spasms of peripheral vessels, a serious illness of a liver.

0,0002 g; ampoules on 0,5 and 1 ml of 0,02% of solution. Storage: in the place protected from light at a temperature not over 10 °.
