ELECTROPUNCTURE [electro-(from «electricity») + lat. punctura prick, puncture; a synonym of a galvanopunktur] — 1) the method of reflexotherapy based on influence by different types of electric current (constant, galvanic, etc.) by means of a thin electrode on biologically active sites located on a body surface — see. Acupuncture ; 2) a method of electrothermic coagulation of a small hemangioma of skin or mucous membrane by means of a thin acute electrode.
