ELBERT Boris Yakovlevich (1890 — 1963) — the Soviet microbiologist and the immunologist, the doctor of medical sciences (1939), professor (1925), zasl. scientist of the Kyrgyz SSR, winner of the State award USSR (1946).

Elbert jointly Gaysky developed theoretical bases of use of a live osleblenny vaccine against a tularemia and implemented the method of tulyaremiyny vaccination which was widely adopted in the USSR and abroad in practice. The state award is conferred together with N. A. Gaysky for development of a live tulyaremiyny vaccine and skin method of its application.
