ECTROPION OF THE CENTURY (ectropium palpebrae) — pathology of provision of a century, at a cut its edge lags behind an eyeglobe.

Ectropion of a century.

V.'s degree of century can be various — from an incomplete prileganiye of a century to an eyeglobe to an ectropion of all century (fig). Century of century usually is followed by dacryagogue, a hyperemia and a hypertrophy of a conjunctiva.

Types of an ectropion of a century

Distinguish the following types of V. of century:

a) spastic — arises at an inflammation of a conjunctiva because of a spasm of an orbital part of a circular muscle of an eye — nictitating spasm (see) and pushings off of free edge of a century reinforced edematous conjunctiva;

b) paralytic — is caused by paralysis of the branches of a facial nerve innervating a circular muscle of an eye; it is observed only on a lower eyelid — it droops owing to own weight and causes lagophthalmia (see), at Krom inflammatory process in a cornea can develop (see the Keratitis);

c) senile — develops on a lower eyelid owing to an atony of fabrics and fibers of a circular muscle of an eye, its development is promoted hron, by conjunctivitis;

d) cicatricial — arises at cicatricial processes in centuries after burns, injuries, an ulcer, a lupus, at caries of bone edge of an eye-socket; in the latter case V. is promoted century by the hem involved and soldered to a bone.


At spastic and paralytic V. century — treatment of the basic disease which caused change of provision of a century; at considerable, hl. obr. cicatricial, V. century — the plastic surgeries giving to a century the correct situation.

Forecast at the corresponding treatment favorable.
