DOGROSE — a perennial shrubby plant this. rose family (Rosaceae). Distinguish several types of a dogrose. Treat types of Cinnamomea a dogrose May, or a dogrose cinnamon (Rosa majalis Herrm., or Rosa cinnamomea L.), dogrose of daurskiya (R. dahurica Pall.), R. beggeriana Schrenk's dogrose, dogrose thorny (R. acicularis Lindi.), dogrose wrinkled (R. rugosa Thunb.), Fed-chenko's dogrose (R. fedtschenkoana Rgl.), and to types of Canina — a dogrose sobachin (R. canina L.). Sh.'s types differ from each other on set of the most characteristic signs and have certain areas of distribution. So, e.g., Sh. dog is eurysynusic in the European part of the USSR, in the Caucasus, in the Crimea, Central Asia; III. May grows in the territory of the European part of the USSR, especially in its northern districts, and also in Siberia (to the Lake Baikal). Highway of daurskiya and Sh. wrinkled are types, the growing hl. obr. in the Far East; R. beggeriana Schrenk's dogrose and Fedchenko's dogrose meet generally in Central Asia.
Sh.'s fruits of types of Cinnamomea are rich with ascorbic acid (see). In the dried-up pulp of mature fruits (Fructus Rosae, a synonym of Fr. Cynos-bati) its quantity can reach 10% and more.
In Sh.'s fruits dog contents ascorbic to - you usually do not exceed 1% (in terms of the dry weight of pulp). Pulp of fruits of all
types of Sh. contains also carotinoids ((3 carotene, lycopene, etc.)* hepatoflavins, K and P, sugar, pectins, organic to - you (lemon and apple). Seeds contain fatty oil (to 10%), rich with carotinoids (see) and tokoferolam (see). The dried-up fruits of high-vitamin types of Sh. are a part of a number of collecting (see Collecting), and also are applied in the form of tea. From fresh; Sh.'s fruits receive syrup (Sirupus ex fructibus Rosae) and vitakhminizi-rovanny syrup from hips (Sirupus ex fructibus Rosae vitaminisatus). Make oil drug of the receiving these drugs of a press remaining later karotolin (Carotolinum), containing not less than 1,2 g/l of carotinoids, to-ry apply at trophic ulcers, eczemas and atrophic changes of mucous membranes. Sh.'s fruits dog use Cholosasum (Cholo-sasum) in production of drug, to-ry apply as cholagogue means. From seeds of all types of Sh. receive the oil of a dogrose (Oleum Rosae) containing and - and p-tokoferoly (not less than 0,4 g/l) and carotinoids (not less than 0,5 g/l). It is applied outwardly at a dermatosis, decubituses, trophic ulcers, nipple cracks, superficial beam damages (see) skin and mucous membranes. At nonspecific ulcer colitis oil of a dogrose appoint inside on 1 chayn. l. 2 times a day or in enemas on 50 ml. Sh.'s fruits are also a part of nek-ry vitamin collecting, napr, collecting vitamin No. 1 (consists of
equal parts of fruits of Sh. and blackcurrant) and collecting vitamin No. 2 (consists of equal parts of fruits of Sh. and berries of a mountain ash).
