DEMINERALIZATION — 1) in medicine — process of depletion of an organism mineral components, in particular salts calcium (see); 2) in the all-biological plan — process of inclusion of mineral (inorganic) substances in composition of organic compounds. Is process, the return to process mineralizations (see).

D.'s phenomenon takes place at various disturbances mineral metabolism (see), accompanying some diseases, napr, at rickets, osteodystrophies, tuberculosis, etc. D.'s coefficient call percentage of inorganic matters in a solid residue of urine. This coefficient normal at the person makes apprx. 30% and increases at D. of an organism. In D.'s nature results from life activity of microorganisms, plants and animals. D.'s processes are a part of a circulation in the nature nitrogen (see), carbon (see), phosphorus (see), are gray (see) and other elements. Formation of amino acids, proteins and other nitrogenous compounds from nitrates in plants belongs to these processes, e.g.

Can be observed during some enzymatic processes which are made out of an organism. So, formation of phosphoric vysokoergichesky connections (see) and other phosphoric ethers in processes biol. oxidations (see. biological oxidation ) and glycolysis (see) D. of phosphorus is. In the same sense it is possible to tell about D. sulfurs, iodine and other elements.

Of water call process of removal of water of the inorganic compounds dissolved in it (see. Distilled water ), generally salts, carried out with the help ionites (see).
