DECANTATION, decanting (to decant fr. decanter) — draining of liquid from the defended deposit. Often use for washing of rainfall at implementation of various chemical analyses in biochemical and clinical diagnostic laboratories. Resort to D. when the volume of nadosadochny liquid is big and filtering is complicated, and also in case of formation of the gelatinous precipitates hammering a time of filters. Advantages of washing of rainfall by D. consist in considerable saving of time and wash liquid.
