In 1976 it is elected the academician - the secretary of Department of medicobiological sciences of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences.

S. S. Debov published apprx. 120 scientific works devoted to problems of exchange nucleinic to - t and proteins in normal and tumoral (cancer) fabrics. Fractions of residual proteins of nuclear envelopes of cells were allocated to them, and together with L. A. Zilber and I. B. 3 lordly specific proteinaceous antigen in primary tumors of a liver is found. In the researches devoted to exchange of nucleotides, S. S. Debov revealed a number of the patterns important for understanding of control mechanisms of synthesis of DNA and RNA, obtained new data on a role of a polinukleotidfosforilaza in exchange of RNA and protein at microbes, and also described some features of activity of a genome in tumoral and normal, cells on RNK-polimeraznom level. A number of its researches is devoted to studying of biosynthesis of RNA and proteins, and also primary structures of enzymes and mechanisms of their action.

Under the leadership of S. S. Debov more than 20 dissertations, including 6 doctor's are defended.

S. S. Debov is vice-president Vsesoyuznogo biochemical about-va, the editor-in-chief of the Questions of Medical Chemistry magazine, the associate editor of the international magazine «Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry», the editor of an edition of department «Biochemistry» in 3 prod. BME. It is awarded by two Orders of Lenin, two awards of the Labour Red Banner, an award of the Red Star, the Gold Star of the Hero Trud of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, awards of Work I of degree (DRV), Kirill and Mefodiy I of degree (NRB).
