CRAB DISEASE (K. H. Krabbe, Danish neurologist, 1885 — 1961; synonym: diffusion infantile sclerosis of Krabbe, globoidal and cellular leukodystrophy of Krabbe, Krabbe's disease — Beneke) — the hereditary disease of a metabolism caused by disturbance of synthesis of cerebrosides and a dismiyelinization of nerve fibrils; it is shown at children's age by spasms, spastic paralyzes, dementia, a blindness, decrease in hearing — see.
