chaklin Vasily Dmitriyevich (1892 — 1976) is the Soviet surgeon, the orthopedist-traumatologist, the member correspondent of AMH (1945), zasl. scientist of RSFSR (1971), winner of the State award USSR (1977).
The member of the CPSU since 1943. One of founders of the Soviet school orthopedists-injury-tologov.
Ended in 1919 medical f-t Kharkiv un-that, worked as the intern of the Kharkiv hospital, the assistant to surgical clinic, the research associate Kharkiv medico-mechanical in-that (nowadays Kharkiv scientific research institute of prosthetics, orthopedics and traumatology of M. I. Sitenko M3 of USSR). From 1931 to 1944 was the director of the Ural (nowadays Sverdlovsk) scientific research institute of traumatology and orthopedics of M3 of RSFSR, since 1944 headed the Moscow (nowadays Central) scientific research institute of prosthetics and prosthetic engineering of the Ministry of Social Welfare of RSFSR. Doctor of medicine (1924), professor (1935). In days of the Great Patriotic War consultant of evakogospitaly. Since 1948 and until the end of life was the research supervisor of the Moscow orthopedic hospital for disabled people of Patriotic war, on base to-rogo in 1956 on its initiative the clinic of children's orthopedics and traumatology CYTO of H was created. V. D. Chaklin is the author of St. 250 scientific works, including a number of monographs. He actively developed functional methods of treatment of fractures of bones. It conducted wide-ranging studies inf. damages of bones, cartilages and joints (osteomyelitis, tuberculosis, etc.). V. D. Chaklin was a supporter of active surgical tactics at tubercular damages of a skeleton, widely applied at the same time osteoplastic substitution of defects. He successfully used osteoplastic methods also at treatment of fractures of bones and diseases of a musculoskeletal system. The methods of an intraekst-ramedullyarny osteosynthesis (Chaklin's methods) developed by it, a front and back spondylodesis (see), methods of autoal-loplastichesky substitution of bones, extra peritoneal access to intervertebral disks and bodies of lumbar vertebrae (see the Lumbotomy, the Backbone), intra pelvic access to a bottom of an acetabular hollow and a head of a hip (Chaklin's way), operation at paralytic horse foot (Putti's operation — Chaklina), etc. became world-famous. He was a supporter of savings and recovery methods of treatment in orthopedics and traumatology. The state award USSR V. D. Chaklin is conferred for experimental justification, a wedge, development and deployment in practice of a method of changes of large bone allotransplants to the person.
V. D. Chaklin was the honorary member Vsesoyuznogo scientific about-va traumatologists and orthopedists, and also the honorary member Bulgarian, Polish, Czechoslovak orthopedic about-in, the British association of surgeons-orthopedists, the member International about-va orthopedists-injury-tologov, the associate editor of the «Orthopedics, Traumatology and Prosthetics» magazine.
It is awarded the order the Labour Red Banner and medals.
