BILIGNOSTUM (Bilignostum; Adipiodonum, Biligrafin, Cholografin, Cholospect, Endografin, Jodipamide; GFH, joint venture. B) — contrast agent. An encore - (2,4,6-triyod-3-carboxyanilide) of adipic acid; With 20 H 14 I 6 N 2 O 6  :

White or almost white crystal powder. Contains 64,38% of iodine. It is well dissolved in water, forming yellowish transparent liquid.

B. enters connection with serum proteins that causes its gepatotropnost. Drug is removed during 2 — 3 days preferential with bile and partially with urine.

Apply to contrasting of bilious ways (see. Cholecystography ) when the peroral cholecystography is inefficient or the gall bladder is removed, and also at diseases went. - kish. a path (when the patient cannot accept a contrast agent inside). Previously check sensitivity of the patient to iodine: enter 1 ml of drug from a test ampoule. If by-effects are absent, next day enter intravenously, slowly (within 3 — 5 min.) 30 — 40 ml of 20% of solution B. Bilious channels become visible in 10 — 15 min., and in 20 — 25 min. they are contrasted most intensively; the gall bladder is visible in 40 — 45 min., a maximum of contrast — through 1/2 — 2 hours. Along with 20% solution apply also 50% solution B.

Drug is well transferred by patients; nausea, vomiting, feeling of heat is in some cases noted, arterial pressure can go down. As a rule, these phenomena pass independently; if necessary appoint oxygen and enter 5% solution of ephedrine. B. it is contraindicated at acute diseases of a liver and kidneys, a decompensation of cordial activity, sharply expressed forms of a bazedovy disease, hypersensitivity to iodine.

Form of release: 20 and 50% solution in ampoules on 10 and 20 ml; test ampoules on 2 ml are applied. Store in the dark cool place.

Bilignostum radioactive — Bilignostum, marked iodine-131. The method of receiving is based on reaction of isotopic exchange between sodium iodide-131 and pharmacopoeian

B. B. radioactive — the transparent colourless silt and slightly yellowish solution containing 1 — 8 mg/ml of the main substance; pH = 4,5 — 5,5, specific activity 0,1 — 1 mkyuri/ml of free iodine-131 to 2%; it is sterile, apirogenen.

Apply to diagnosis of a functional condition of a liver and a gall bladder and scanning of a gall bladder, heart and tumors of a brain. Enter intravenously from 0,3 to 7 mkkyuri/kg.

Scanning of heart by means of B. radioactive is made at differential diagnosis of dilatation of heart and a vypotny pericardis. The research is begun right after an injection of drug. Scanning of tumors of a brain is made in 1 — 5 hour after an injection.
