BICEPS-REFLEX (Latin biceps two-headed; a reflex) — the bending of a forearm caused by percussion of a sinew of a biceps of a shoulder (m. biceps brachii). The hand at the same time shall be slightly bent in an elbow. The reflex arc passes through V and VI cervical segments. Fading of a reflex indicates defeat of gray matter of a spinal cord, ventral or back roots in the field of the specified segments or a musculocutaneous nerve. At defeat of pyramidal system there is higher than the level of reflex arc of B. - river, as well as other tendon jerks, raises.
