BERMAN Victor Mikhaylovich

BERMAN Victor Mikhaylovich (1897 — 1969) — the Soviet microbiologist and the epidemiologist, the doctor of medical sciences, professor, the colonel of medical service. In 1924 ended VMA, then worked as the epidemiologist in army institutions of the Soviet Army. Since 1929 — the assistant to department of microbiology of VMA. Since 1935 — headed department of microbiology Leningrad pediatric in-that; in 1936 organized the first department of epidemiology of VMA and directed it till 1949.

V. M. Berman's works are devoted to problems of age immunology and microbiology of tuberculosis and intestinal pathology. The greatest popularity its researches on barrier function limf acquired, systems. It developed an original method of studying of a concluding phase of phagocytal reaction. V. M. Berman, based on I. I. Mechnikov's doctrine, showed value of the complete phagocytosis happening in macrophages. He is the author of the first domestic textbook on private epidemiology. Under its management 25 theses, including 3 dokt are executed.

From 1937 to 1949 M. Berman is the chairman of the Leningrad microbiological island. It is awarded by the Orders of Lenin, the Red Banner, the Red Star and medals.
