BELENKY Max Lvovich

BELENKY Max Lvovich (1911 — 1965) — the Soviet pharmacologist, the member correspondent of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences (1960), the honored worker of science of the Latvian SSR (1961). In 1933 Leningrad medical in-t ended the 2nd. Worked under the leadership of M. I. Gramenitsky and

M. L. Belenky is an author more than 100 scientific works, including 2 monographs devoted to hl. obr. to questions of pharmacology of carotid receptors, cholinergic and adrenergic processes; the coauthor of the textbook on pharmacology. M. L. Belenky put forward and proved the theory about the negative energy balance as to a proximate cause of emergence of exciting process in chemoceptors of a carotid ball and other receptor structures. Under the leadership of M. L. Belenky are revealed p adrenergic properties of Apomorphinum, a cholinergic component in operation of Phenaminum, versatile influence of aminophenylindandionums on a nervous system are studied. He was a board member of the All-Union pharmacological island, the associate editor of the Pharmacology and Toxicology magazine; coeditor of an edition of department «Pharmacology» of the 2nd prod. BME. Also «the Sign of Honour», and also medals is awarded by awards of the Red Star.
